    Hello all,

I recently attended the Draft Horse workshop at the NOFA conference and Donn suggested that we check out the site, which I did, and found it to be such a great source of informtion.

My wife and I have 4 teen age children (19, 17 and 13 year old twins) and live on a small, 23 A, organic vegatable farm we also have laying hens. We sell most of our produce at a local farmers market right in Ballston Spa. We also sell a bit wholesale. We also have a small pony that has been great for the kids and we have learned alot about the basic care and maintenance of ponies

I have always been interested in farming with horses but due to my off farm job and frequent moves it has been very difficult to get started. We are settled for good this time but still working off the farm.

We heat with wood and grow most of our own food I would like to be able to have draft horses that will help with fire wood, plowing and cultivation and maybe even sleigh rides in the winter.
