In this current market a horse lover could easily overstock themselves. Even good purebred stock is going for cheap money. We keep 8 horses between my parents and us only 1 1/2 miles apart so that is usually more than we need except in spring and fall work when sometimes we could use a couple more but usually don’t have a problem getting green colts from a good friend. We went to a sale last Friday and Dad found a nice dappled mare about 7 that wasn’t broke but gentle and thought about getting her for a winter project until I told him he might like her and we’d have to ad on the horse barn again. Then I found a nice pair of bay mini mules I thought I could drive on a truck tire this winter and sell next summer. They held them over until the night sale so I didn’t get them but my wife said if I brought them home she probably wouldn’t have let me sell them anyway. It’s a buyers market out there and if your not carefull some people will give you good drafts for the taking so they don’t have to feed them anymore.

Couldn’t get over $250 bidded for the 9 and $125 for the 12. Sad, wish I had the extra space, I’da bought ’em in a heartbeat.
