Russell Forestry Services and Chase Mountain Management Corporation will be conducting an animal powered timber harvest during October 2008. We will be harvesting a variety of hardwood and softwood timber as well as fuelwood on Chase mountain Preserve’s 1400 acre woodland. We are looking for teamsters with experience and animals, who want to participate in this two week endeavor. Harvesting will be done with horses and oxen in conjunction with at least one tractor drawn forwarder. Some of the lumber will be sold to regional sawmills, while lower grade logs are to be processed at the resident sawmill, as well as the fuelwood.
