I recently read that you shouldn’t oil the collar face, but a reason was not given. This seems to to be first I’ve heard that, at least I don’t remember ever reading that or someone telling me that before. Is this a common view point, and what is the reason?
Thanks

I oil mine religiously three times a year. Once in the Spring when I start working them again. A light oiling mid summer. And one more right about the time I put it up for the winter.
