Well known New England horseman Ken Demers died recently. Ken was an institution who made unmeasurable positive contributions to the working horse community in the northeast. Here is a link to the news story, as well as mention of the memorial ride in his honor on July 12 in Clarksburg, Mass.

I dare say I was the first North Adams State College student to learn to work horses under Ken broke my first colt a bay gelding named Donny under his quidence. I went on to become a professional farrier and raise Percherons for 30 years now I milk organic cows and still work horses only I have changed colors to all red horses(Suffolks) not bad for a kid raised out side of Boston
