Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t discovered this before now. My name is Jennifer and we have a dairy farm in Richmondville, NY. I have three belgian mares, three saddle horses and a mustang/belgian cross weanling filly. Just started driving/working horses 3 years ago and found it’s a big adjustment from 20+ years of riding. We’re having a blast, using the horses as an excuse to beat high fuel prices.

Hi Jennifer, Looking forward to seeing more pictures of your horses and to read about how you are using them.

Hi Jennifer, welcome to DAP. Those are some very NICE horses you have there.

I looked at the map, and you are not terribly far from friends that I have in Carlisle and in Cherry Valley, NY. That is a really nice part of the world, I am sure you enjoy living / working there.

Once again, welcome. Don’t be a stranger …

Thanks, we had fun at the Bradts’ corn harvest the last two years in Carlisle, also at the Decker farm near Oneonta. Did some logging this winter until it got too muddy. Plowed last spring, but this year we weren’t too successful as the reset handle on my plows broke and that took some time to get fixed.

I feel very lucky to have found a combination of horses that I can learn from and do just about anything with. Sandy and Bonnie were invited to a parade 2 weeks ago. They are my matched team. I found Belle at a cattle auction 2 years ago as a 12 year old Amish horse. She’s broke to death and definitely has the wear and tear to prove it. But she’ll go with either mare and work her heart out.
