    We are getting a few inquiries from folks in the north – in particular some Amish from Holmes County, Ohio, that are looking to hitch a ride to Tennessee on the 17th of September.

    If anyone knows someone making that journey – that would like to share a ride from anywhere north of the Mason Dixon line let us know and we will try to network a carpool south. I would expect traveling expenses could be shared.

    Jason, What do I have to do as Chairman? If you want me to help I can. I guess I better start looking for my DAP tee shirt. I told my wife today that I might need to go to Tenn. I think she took it really well. Donn

    Whatever you can do to put some car pools together sir, Chairman of CP.

    I am not sure if that is possible, but maybe even an attempt to put a rental van and driver together among some Amish. Of course they can do that themselves if they want to and I am not sure how to connect with many of them at this late date. Some phone work for sure.

    It is a hard time of year for farm folks, lots of second, third cutting hay, harvest of some crops, the up swing in the forest products markets…lots to do, so I know it will be hard to get away.

    Any ideas are appreciated from any readers out there. Thanks Don, you must really want to see allot of big stout broke mules…and maybe some Suffolk logging horses at work.

    I have posted the car pooling message on the RH front porch too.

    We now have a lady looking to buy to new buggy wheels brought down by an Amish manufacturer. Don’t have all the details on that but am researching who might make those or have a stock of them.

    Hey Jason,

    This is only “the first” year. Right? It may take some of us Yankees a few years to get down to SDAD.

    Sounds like an awesome event, wish i could make it.

    If I didn’t have so much last minute planning for NEAPFD I would definitely be on my way. Maybe in a few years when there is a full-time staff running the event (:D) I will have the time. Sorry to miss it.
