Queen and Queenie are a calm, well-trained farm team who are ready right now to hook up and go and who can do anything. Both horses came to me from Amish country out in Ohio about five years ago…so they were well trained and have been working with me farming vegetables for the seasons since leaving Ohio. I have used them almost daily to plow, disk, harrow, cultivate, mow, hay, haul wagons and hay, haul logs out of the woods, and spread manure and compost. I have maintained their feet with the same farrier, have a vet check their teeth and general health every spring, and I worm them a few times a year (I don’t worm them every 6-8 weeks, as they are rotationally grazed on the 10 acres of pasture that we have had available to us). I also ride them bareback on occasion, though I have never put a saddle on either of them. I’m not sure if they were ridden
before I received them. So here is who they are…

Queen is about 16 years old, about 16.5 hands, maybe 1700-1800 pounds. She is calm, steady, and in great health. If anything, she is hard to keep weight off…we give her almost no grain…she is maintained just fine on grass and hay.

Queenie is about 20 years old, about 16.5 hands, maybe 1500-1600 pounds. She is a huge sweetheart, is my lead horse and is always paying attention and ready to work. She is an incredibly hard worker, though she does tire out sooner than Queen as she is older. She needs more down time than Queen…I think that she is most suitable for light work at this point. She can do some harder work, but it will need to be less frequent. Queenie is also in good health but needs to be grained daily to keep weight on.

I have a few pictures which I can email or you can go to our website, which is listed below, to find a few pictures of the horses.

Price is negotiable and may include hay.

Let me know if you have any more questions…I am happy to answer. Thank you,
    Rachel Seemar
