Are ox team brichens better at holding back loads than the yoke against horns method?
October 21, 2009 at 12:31 am #54785HowieParticipantI do not know if they are any better holding back a load or not. The cows that I used to work a lot could back a heavier load with the brichen than they could on their horns. My mentor said they could hold back more load on a brichen than on their horns.:)

October 21, 2009 at 7:12 am #54787CharlyBonifazMemberscared the wits out of mine when I just put it on and used it; took him a minute or 2 to comprehend and me some convincing him, it wouldn’t eat him alive……
never thought of it 🙁
so the next one will get accustomed to it properly…….
