“Suzie” is a nice little horse. 15.2 hands and about 1500#. Six years old, she rides and drives. She has worked single, and teams of two, three, four and five. She has done lots of hay mowing, raking, and baling. She has just started under saddle, but goes easy and shows great potential.
She has a crack in her left front hoof that we have treated with shoes this winter, it is starting to grow out and she has been totally sound. She is a little smaller than my other horses. She is a spirited horse that is fun to work with.
You can see her here and here.
asking $1500, She is located in Central NY, near Cortland. 607-849-4442

I am looking for a single to pair with my percheron gelding. I work mostly in the woods and need to be able to move bigger wood. Do you still have her? Could she be put right to work? How is her attitude? I need an animal who is willing to get to work – a go getter, but quiet and willing. I am really particular and have looked at a great number of horses without finding the right match for Pete. She may be a bit small for my needs but thought I would inquire anyways. Thanks.

The best way I can think of to describe her attitude is that she is “up” and she is alert. She is a very responsive horse, but not the one I would put a beginning teamster with on their very first day. Feel free to give me a call and we can talk about Suzie, Donn

What have you got? I am looking for a pair for my percheron single, Pete. Need a good size horse for single and team work on arch in the woods. Good attitude and willing worker needed. And, I need an animal that can go right to work as I have woods work on the schedule and could really use a second horse. Like to hear more about your horse. Thanks.

BillMay 22, 2010 at 1:01 pm #59408Donn HewesKeymasterI hear you Bill. I usually don’t start making dry hay until June at the earliest, but the forecast this week has me real tempted.

I ended up with Bill’s suffolk gelding, and I wanted to let you know that I am all set for now. Thanks.
