Hi All
New here, hoping to gain loads of info from this site.
For the first of my post can anyone tell what model of plow this is? It appears to be a massey, 16″.The share that was on it was marked M-H P7155so I will assume that it is a Mssey plow.
The only thing it seems to need is a share & landside. Thanks In Advance Al

I know that everything that’s yellow and green isn’t necessarily a JD but that looks alot like my JD sulky (picture posted somewhere on DAP). The main difference that I can see is the front furrow wheel’s depth adjustment – besides the handle being modified, the shaft looks pretty long (tall). Also, and this could be a big difference, I can’t really tell what the beam looks like – does it have a “hump” in it? The JD I have is straight. Not sure I would put much stock in the way parts are stamped – seems there were a lot of part numbers that didn’t use the manufacturer’s initials – also, things like shares often end up being swapped onto different equipment. Good luck.

Hi Geoff
The story is, quite a few people looked at it prior to the sale where I bought, they all where thinking that it was massey, but we all know that they could be wrong. All the casting numbers begin with the letter P, for what it is worth.
I attached a photo that should make the beam easier to see. I appreciate the help I am clueless about this stuff.

Now I’m beginning to think you and your buddies migh be right. While it is a framed footlift sulky plow similar to the JD I have, some things look a little different – though might just be earlier model. The only place I can think of to lookright off is in L. Miller’s Plow/Tillage book (I don’t have that one) – it seemed to have a lot of variety in plows.
Good luck again.

JohnThanks we have been looking for a good one for awhile.

Well finally got Mr. Millers book on plows. From what we can see in the photos in the book & the brief descriptions. We have come to the conclusion that it is a Moline plow (best ever no. 2 sulky) there does seem to be some in correct parts on the plow compared to the photo but they could have been missing or broken at some point & replaced with in correct pieces.
AlFebruary 2, 2011 at 3:09 pm #60053TBigLugParticipantGeoff, I can see what you see. It looks awfully similar to my JD footlift. Never seen such a high attachment point for a tongue though. I wonder what the purpose for that was? Maybe to keep them from hitting their front legs on the neck yoke. Nice find though colttrainer. I do like my 16″‘ers for plowing the ground at our farm.
February 2, 2011 at 4:48 pm #60049BarwParticipantSure looks like a JD foot lift like my has for a lawn ornament in the
front yard.February 3, 2011 at 6:41 pm #60050MarshallParticipantI don’t know a thing about it other than I wish my James Oliver #11 had a coulter like that.
