OK, So now I picked up a nice J D Endgate Seeder, but I have no idea where to set it for the seeding rate for different seed. Does anyone out there have an owners manual for it they would sell or at least send me a copy of a seeding rate chart or something? We did use it today to seed some millet and rye to put up for hay. We just set it light and went over it twice…. It worked but I would still like a manual. Thanks

I usually set mine by the hit and miss method. Step off an acre , set the seeder on the light side, seed stepped off area and adjust the opening in or out. When I get it right were I want it I write the setting on the seed hopper with permanent marker so I know were to start next time. Seeding rate seem to vary year to year depending on foreign matter and seed weight.

I bought a grain drill at a farm sale years ago and on the inside of the lids was a record of the settings for the last 20 years. Settings varied year to year

    Good luck

Sometimes it is nice to have a manual to reference, I have found quite a few original and reprinted manuals on eBay. Even if they don’t have what you want on a given day you can save a specific search and eBay will email you when someone posts that item. I just got a reprint for my new cultivator, I didn’t need it but I learned a lot more about my new toy after reading through it, and it is nice to have all of the parts numbers.
