ModeratorI have for sale a pair of 6″ bows, the yoke that they went to is no longer in use, and my new yoke has larger holes. These are nice bows with only 3 months of light use on them, they are finished with a water based poly product. I am asking $25 for the pair and will have them with me at NEAPFD this weekend.

We will buy a new one if we have too, but would rather get a used one. We are going to be starting some calves this winter and we don’t really want to have to sink a lot of money into starter yokes. Thanks for your help!

It is also very possible to make a small training yoke and purchase the bows. Tillers International offers a reasonably prices yoke plan and it is fairly easy to find a pair of small bows for a reasonable price. Depending on the size of your calves you can even use a 4×4 to start with, it doesn’t have to be fancy or super strong when they are just starting. Story’s book on Oxen is a good place to start if you want to try making your own yoke.
