I have for sale a pair of 6″ bows, the yoke that they went to is no longer in use, and my new yoke has larger holes. These are nice bows with only 3 months of light use on them, they are finished with a water based poly product. I am asking $25 for the pair and will have them with me at NEAPFD this weekend.

Sorry, I should have posted earlier that they sold last weekend at the event.
There are a couple places that you could buy new ones from.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know of anyone in Vermont that may have used yokes or would be willing to let us borrow one? We will buy a new one if we have too, but would rather get a used one. We are going to be starting some calves this winter and we don’t really want to have to sink a lot of money into starter yokes. Thanks for your help!

I posted some info on another of your threads, have a look.

It is also very possible to make a small training yoke and purchase the bows. Tillers International offers a reasonably prices yoke plan and it is fairly easy to find a pair of small bows for a reasonable price. Depending on the size of your calves you can even use a 4×4 to start with, it doesn’t have to be fancy or super strong when they are just starting. Story’s book on Oxen is a good place to start if you want to try making your own yoke.

    Good Luck,

    Erika
