    While trying to get my old Emmerson plow in order, I came across an article which recommend greasing the wheel boxings with no explanation as to what they were. Well it turns out they are the predecessor of wheel bearings. They connect the wheels to the axle.

    And a boxing engine was the tool used by the wheelwright to bore out the centre of the wheel to take the box..
