I just took on a jersey bull calf to train up – what height do they eventually get to? I’m just trying to assess what he’s likely to be able to do/will be like. We have pedigree cows and younger steers and bulls but no males 3yrs+
In the book “Oxen, a Teamster’s Guide” Drew Conroy gives the average weight of mature, well-fed jersey oxen as 1600 pounds. I presume the breed standards for jersey’s are the same on both sides of the Atlantic.
