Donn’s Mower Shop will be open for business this spring. I am buying a good supply of parts for Mcd #7 and #9 mowers. A few for the JD. Others I will order as needed. I will have several different knife sections, including the smooth knife section, top serrated and under serrated. lots of cutter bar, pitman, and seals and barings will be in stock.
Feel free to contact me to talk about mower repair, and to look for parts.

are you gonna offer any rebuilts for sale?
good luck with your shopmitch
January 4, 2011 at 7:34 pm #64524Donn HewesKeymasterperhaps rebuilts eventually. I am starting out focused on about 60 Amish Neighbors who all seem to support the idea. I think they mostly want parts and maybe a few repairs. They also want the cutting, welding, and bending services.
January 4, 2011 at 9:44 pm #64522RodParticipantNeat, Donn, something those small shops that I really tune into. I have a 1 horse MD that is a winter project and I will be in touch when I figure out what I need.
January 4, 2011 at 9:55 pm #64528Jim GarvinParticipantThat’s great news, Donn. I’m STILL:mad:waiting for the mower book I ordered from SFJ back in November (“hope to reprint it by the end of January”)!!! As soon as I figure out what I need I’ll be sure to reach out to you.
January 4, 2011 at 9:56 pm #64529Jim GarvinParticipantForgot to ask…..Does that mean you’re done with dragging hoses?
January 5, 2011 at 12:41 am #64525Donn HewesKeymasterunfortunately it is the dragging hoses that affords all else. Just twelve years to go.
January 5, 2011 at 1:01 am #64527Tim HarriganParticipantFirefighter?
January 5, 2011 at 1:22 am #64530Jim GarvinParticipantIt’s a noble occupation, for sure, Donn. Just hope that they don’t dink around with your retirement system in NY like they have ours in NH!!
January 5, 2011 at 2:25 am #64526JayParticipantAlong with Donn’s efforts, I am rebuilding mowers- so far mostly McD but will be doing a JD this winter also. I have some parts and put on a rebuild workshop in the spring and fall. Have a couple of #9’s ready now. I have most parts and can get others. Does your mower hum like a sewing machine?
