I had my young gelding’s teeth checked and floated by the Vet. the other day. She mentioned he is monkey-mouthed. I guess he has a considerable under bite. He is doing fine. His weight is good. He is eating his share of hay and is a slob with his grain but not missing out of much there either. I forgot to ask the Doc. though is this something that he could outgrow? Maybe after his adult teeth come in?
Thanks Guys.

And can often be an issue for the entire life of the animal as far as overgrown teeth go from not wearing properly.

She did mention that he was gelded and that it was hereditary but I figured that with all the growing he has left to do, I am just trying to get a handle on the odds of him taking care of some or most of the problem on his own. No big deal for me though, it’s just another thing to keep an eye on. He has plenty of heart and brings out the best in both of the other two I team him with. I am not going to worry too much about it. Like I mentioned he is well nourished at this point. - AuthorPosts
