I’m looking for an apprentice/assistant to work with me this Fall/Winter on two related draft-horse projects:
* Timber managing a sugarbush in Walden, Vermont. Both draft horse and mechanical (tractor/winch) techniques will be utilized. The site is scheduled to have sap pipelines run in late Fall for 3000 taps and needs to be prepped/harvested.
* Sleigh ride prep for the coming winter season. I run a full-time sleigh-ride business in Stowe, Vermont and need assistance with the prep work associated with it (conditioning horses, tack/harness, sleigh maintenance, etc.).
This is listed as an “apprentice/assistant” position only because it depends on the experience of those applying. You can learn or you can earn – or both if you’re driven (horse pun intended).
You can reach me via phone at: (802) 272-3775 or by email at: mcolby@broadsides.org.
I look forward to hearing from you.
