I put my six month old steers on a stone boat for the first time this evening and it did not go well at all. Once the boat started to scratch in the gravel road they took off and the only thing that stopped them was a tree they got caught in after a hundred yards or so. I could not hold them with a rope attached to their halters and I’m not petite in any way, they have been dragging a chain for a week or so and even brought back some small limbs during the daily training sessions. My question, is this a fairly normal reaction to a new training device or is it something that I need to be worried about? Any advice would be welcome and don’t worry about hurting my feelings as I’m pretty thick skined and am only concerned with taking care of my boys. Thanks in advance.
Doug.
