Below is a question posted on another forum. Question was not from me but I do have an opinion. Reason for posting here is that on the other forum there was mixed opinions and wanted to see how it fared on this forum.

    The question was:

“When hooking 2 horses of different body lengths do you match them even at neck yoke and use different length on traces or what. I’ll be hooking to a wagon.”

Hook the trace chains the same & adjust the lines if one has a longer neck.

I replied with a “yep” to that question based solely on my old team and failed to provide any background information. I should go back and add to my answer. For me and my team, a Percheron/QH and a Haflinger/QH I was actually using two different sized harness that had length sized tugs. So I did drop different numbers of links. If they were the same harness, they should be the same length regardless of body length.

Jonathan, glad you clarified your answer as several were in agreement with you. Didn’t know if they agreed because they really thought that or maybe just knew you and thought you should know.
