Well, had two days of making ox shoes in anticpation of shoeing orders. My arm is sore, but good. I need a new hammer, old one is pretty beat up with years of making shoes. Hate to give it up. Maybe, I will mount it on a wall.

Well, found out today that ox shoeing will be put off for a week or so, as I will be conducting workshops. Will make some more sets of shoes Thursday and Friday though. Hope my arm holds up. This will make 27 sets available.

Well, shoeing has been put on hold as big hinges are being made for a nearby fortress. First team scheduled next week is for a champion ox teamster. Not sure why he comes to me as he can shoe himself. He has said that my shoeing means a better placing in competition. That must be it. Looking forward to the oxen as they are impressive. Too bad they have thin soles, but the firey ones usually do.

Not feeling well today. Good thing I have two days off. Hope I feel better to shoe a team Friday.

Shod a nice pair on the weekend. Very moderate. Durhams. Heels a bit splayed, but very good feet overall.

Shod a beautiful pair of Gray Durham and Herfords. They were a joy to shoe. 5 years old. Had to shoe in a way that corrected Bright’s left front foot. It was turned off and inner hoof turned under. His feet looked great when all done. They had been entered in a fair already. Won first place. Hauled 6800 lbs.
