Does anyone grow Sainfoin, either as a forage or a cover crop? I am thinking of integrating it into the cover cropping rotation here, possibly along with rye and vetch over the winter. It has a long taproot and seemingly lush growth along with being a non-bloating legume, and is well known in european countries and I would guess adored due to its name (healthy hay in french). I am curious as to how it might establish and grow at this time of year (early october) in the northeast.
