I will relinquish my pride and admit, I left my toe in the wrong spot too long. Boy that hurts. I started this thread, hoping to hear other horror stories that will make me feel better. Why did he step on the little toe ?:o

October 13, 2012 at 2:20 am #75341dominiquer60ModeratorI was getting ready to use the big team on my new Schipshe culti-mulcher this past July. I brought both horses through the large gate at the same time. Suddenly the trouble maker made a dash for grass and the other, a big 2300#er, was on me with his hind caulked shoe pivoting on the top and middle of my foot, at least we were on dirt and not concrete. It is still tender, but now I lead one at a time out when it involves the trouble maker.
October 13, 2012 at 7:09 pm #75340greyParticipantAll things being equal, I usually pitch a bigger fit about being casually stepped on by my big goat than by my 1700lb unshod horses. But if there’s a kerfluffle involved, things can turn bad in a hurry with the horses + feet while the goat trauma usually maxes out with a holler and some cussing.
dominiquer60 I cringed outwardly when reading your description of the caulked shoe pivoting on the top of your foot.

Erika, I cringed too. I think I hate the limping around for 6 to 8 weeks worse than first pain. Because you can’t just stop working.Watch your toes !
October 14, 2012 at 1:32 am #75343dominiquer60ModeratorThe next couple days were hard, but after dealing with a heal spur and plantar facetious for a year I will take being stepped on any day.
It can happen to any of us, and anyone who says they have never been stepped on just jinxed themselves 🙂
October 14, 2012 at 2:15 pm #75339JeanParticipantThe worst for me was when I was soaking my Canadian’s foot for an abscess and due to his Shivers he jerked it from my hand and smashed it on my foot. He had no idea what had happened. When the Shiver’s spasm hits him he can not control it. I had some friends there and had to act all cool about it, like it did not really hurt. I did use it as an excuse to take the next day off from my day job. Silver lining that was.
