Has any one used a pressurized gas over hydraulic to run hydraulics on a fore cart? I have seen this system used in other aplications it is simple and quiet. A hoof trimmer told a tank of nitrogen (I think) lasts a few good days on his hoof trimming schute. I will try to get more info I always carry nitrogen on my truck but don’t know the price. I work on dairies all the time I will have to keep an eye out for the hoof trimmer and pick his brain.

I have thought about putting a hydraulic pump on a drive wheel to pressurize a hydraulic accumulator to run the hydraulics. Not sure if it would work but may look into it.

I was thinking was using nitrogen or co2 to pressurize a vessel full of oil hooked to a cylnder to raise it and then exhausting the gas to lower it down. If I didnt use oil it would build pressure then spring out of the ground just like an air cylnder. Eli
