Milking Shorthorn team for sale

This pair of steers are very well trained, and are always ready to go. These steers, Luke and Abel, are 3 1/2 years old, and weigh sixteen or seventeen hundred pounds apiece, according to the weight tape. (I don’t have a way to get their exact weight.) I have used them mostly for logging, but they are also comfortable with pulling a cart, logging arch, wagon, manure spreader and plow. They can be driven from the front, both sides, (although easier from their left) as well as from behind, that is, they can be driven while sitting on the cart behind them, and will do very tight come haw and off gee turns. They also can be driven from a distance. I can stand in the woods a hundred feet away from them and direct them through the trees to or away from me, while they are pulling a logging arch and a load of logs. they are very powerful, and can go places a tractor cannot.
the latest big load we pulled was a fresh pine log, 17 feet long and 28 inches in diameter pulled on dry ground, as well as countless other hitches of multiple large hardwood logs.The only reason I am selling them is because we are moving, and cannot keep them, but I know I will go back to oxen when I can. They eat about a square bale apiece a day, or a round bale a week together. The steers also come with a yoke, and two halters. I also have various pieces of horse drawn equipment that I would be willing to sell, including a restored sulky plow, several mowers (all need work) a walking plow and cultivator, logging arch, and bob sleds. Please tell any one you know about this pair. They are a great team, and it would be a real bummer to beef them out.
I’m asking 2500$, including the yoke, and as much as I like to dicker, this is a firm number.
