I bid you all greetings from the show-me state of Missouri. From looking at the membership map, I see the closet one hails from Oklahoma. I am encouraged to see the efforts being made by DAPnet to spread the word concerning sustainable farming and logging through draft animal power.
I pastored a small church in rural Missouri for 12 years. My fields of study are biblical economics and agrarianism. During this time I was involved in a partnership that logged with mules and ran a small band sawmill, which has since dissolved, though my interest in restorative forestry and sustainable farming still grows. Due to economic realities I was forced to sell my draft animals and nearly all of the equipment that went with them. I still have an old used harness I hope someday to put on fine draft mule, Lord willing. In any event, I look forward to linking in with like-minded folks and I am hoping there will be a few from Missouri.
