We are a dual powered, small family farm in Twisp, Washington. We milk 4 Jersey cows and sell pasteurized, non-homogenized milk at local stores. We use our draft horses and a small tractor to put up around 30 tons of hay each year.
We are looking for someone who is; self motivated, likes to work hard, can lift 80 pounds, has good communication skill, and wants to work with animals.
Tasks include, but are not limited to: moving 3 inch irrigation hand lines, cleaning animal loafing areas, harnessing horses, picking up hay at harvest time, driving tractor, cleaning dairy facilities, milking cows and various farm construction projects.
Previous experience working with draft animals is not required. Having your own transportation is very desirable, but not necessary. You will be provided with housing on the farm.
Pay is $600 a month plus some food provided as well as a private garden space. Position is available from April through October. Please send a resume and cover letter with at least two working related references and a photo of you doing something you love out side. thrashdak@gmail.com
