Walsh hames

    I got two pair of Walsh hames at a garage sale yesterday, both size 6. I have never seen them before. Does anyone of you use them, has experience, or some stories / history?
    They came with hame fasteners although it seems unnecessary then the hames have on one side a lever to hold the hame strap, or in this case probably a chain. I have never used hame fastener before, one is a lever and one is a ratchet type, any experience or tricks to know?
