As men will enjoy the noonday sun
celebrating recharging
growing from within.

Autumn the harvest time
the scything time.
Threshing away the chaff
as the woods shed their skin.
Like the farmer
we hold back seeds for planting
and sell what we can afford to lose.

Winter the quiet time
the resting time.
Keeping ourselves
as the farmer keeps his oxen
and the woods lay quiet
and sleeping.

Spring the glorious time
the awakening time.
Improving our husbandry
striving to grow more carefully
than we did last year.

As we walk the springtime woods and fields
The Earth shows us her brand new season.
Seeking her own redemption
in revealing that which is unchanging
universal
and eternal.

Every year
asking us to see her
with new eyes
to make and keep with her a new covenant
and a new redemption for ourselves.
