Besides the TIMO’s Troy has turned some property into a Family Foundation. This way it remains as forest land in perpetuity.
As Jason said ,I am one of the crew and as such I don’t get involved in the business management so I don’t have many answers about the TIMO’s or the foundation. If any one is interested I can give you Guy Dunkles contact info.

I have had really difficult times working with Amish harnesses makers, because of the distance, and the difficulty of adequately describing the desired product by mail. This is not to say they don’t do a good job, I was unable to have a successful transaction. There are many different assumptions about harnesses based on regional preferences that it can be hard to overcome that.

Carl, I would be willing to relay messages if the shipping costs didn’t make the cost of the harness prohibitive. Much easier/faster to email me than to wait on the US mail.

Jason, I finally solved the rubbing problem by buying leather straps for the jockey yoke hooks. I had to replace the nylon to often because the holes for the buckles would tear out. Using leather also healed the sores.

Would you be interested in locating an Amish harness maker? There is one down here that will do mail order. I could check on prices and shipping charges if you were interested.

I didn’t see anything that I hadn’t seen before, But I didn’t see it all either:)
Like danb I noticed the horse powers, and all that they were running with them. I walked away wondering how many horses it would take to run a generator?

Ralf, Rural Heritage Magazine usually has a video of HPD. Their offices were flooded earlier this summer so I don’t know if they will have one available this year. I think they might have some available from previous years.

I have noticed that folks that have used the western style harness don’t seem to want to drop enough links on the heel chains to make the Dring work correctly. After you have hooked the first 3 heel chains you have to put your knee in back of the last single tree and push it ahead so that you are able to hook the remaining heel chain .

Neil, Question about your harness. It appears to have Dring style traces with belly backers. What are the advantages/disadvantages of this style harness?

Thanks Jason, Haven’t pulled any of those nice cherries for a while .Lots of ash, everybody is trying to get rid of it before the emerald ash borer gets it.
