Well now I wonder, Is that all you get out of what I do? Carl !
I guess you will never advance past were your at now!
I could debate or even defend what I do and the skill it takes to do what I do but some one like you will always find fault! Until you can sit in my seat and pull line on 8 10 or 12 then is useless. Sorry I offend you with the truth and pointed out holes in your harness , but life is full of B,s ! I have run in to your type my whole life and when I started to farm with big hitches your type came out in spades, You cant do that is to dangerous or to far above your skill but I still did it! your inability to see value in what I do is your shortcoming not mine, If your so sure that Your right get your self up here and set down beside me as I fan 20 or so then we will talk about how wonderful conservative is!! Personal condemnation of character is something I have endured a lot on this site and some buy you, I have answered all Questions with great care but when there questions, when there not then so be it, kind of like ( They would have put a stop to than) just shows the kind of character that would make that statement, and there is no point in worrying about them,
What some call ( pushing the envelope) we call kindergarten, we understand the complexity’s and talent it takes to do what I do(there is only so much one can get out of skidding a log with one or two) and any one that works with me gets it real quick, were some one like you see’s a showboat others with a open mind see a skill they would like to obtain!!
I would have quit posting on this site a long time ago if it were not for the emails I get for info that they tryed to get on here and were shot down and the ones that really understand horsemanship and injoy what I do!

    Injoy Carl

It took a couple of runs at it but I think I go it!! if you are having trouble with scalding the shoulder down low, kind of like a wrinkled smile, two things are happening, 1, hot soft skin. 2 over heated and wet shoulders! you can work your horses a little easier until they callous, not easy to do. or if you like go get a pare of vinyl pads, here’s a link, http://www.aaronmartin.com/product.php?cat_id=206&catview=34&submit=View , they will heal a sore shoulder while you work the horse, they sure don’t look like they work but they sure do, i use them on all my teams now, after all I have 18 teams and not all there shoulders can be toughened up to work hard on hot days and since I have switched to these I have no more scalds period, hope this helps
ps I hit spell check and it all most fried out trying to decider you post my man!! hows life??

Good call…the throat chafe’n is just with that one collar…not bad…just puffy & tender in the morn’n…with a little dandruff…it’s from much heat & work…never done it before even when 100-hot…
problem is Absorbant pad…My gear stays wet from country scenery….couldn’t wait to find the canadian money to order from Martin’s…took a 1/2″ firm foam camp’n pad from Wally’s China-Mart…& cut a collar pad…cost $6 amerikan…to cut 2…yeah….that’s higher’n a cat’s azz….but ya’ can’t let money stand in the way of pass’n a good time…the pads are blue & way-2-Gay for me …but had Butts in seats & tracks to make….
Makes Sense..I only use..Neoprene girths are slick & don’t chafe, don’t stay wet or absorb….

Its a little long but the pad helps, does it rock back and forth or lay flat on the shoulder? it looks like it has been broke at the bottom and if it has chuck it. to pick a new collar, start by looking at the neck up high and see if they have a large muscle about a third of the way up, if there is you’ll need a half to full sweeny collar, if not and there is a long flat surface faceing some what forward the whole way to the top, that a flat shoulder and you’ll need a full face collar, here a video I did a while a go it might help.

the pad is to short but it works for this mare, a longer one wrinkled a the the bend at the bottom,
but they should be 2″ longer than the collar

One horse. Always start with one, preferably an older, level headed gelding thats got some miles on him. He doesn’t have to be big, handsome or expensive. What he needs is enough patience to get through YOUR leaning stages. I was blessed with a 12 year old 15+ hand, old style, chunky grade Percheron gelding. After the intial foolishness we develpoed into a pretty darn good woods team, he and I. I will admit the day I found him dead in the back pasture I cried like a little girl. Weeped would be more accurate. I loved Old Jack. Best thing that ever happened to me in the way of farming or woods work.

OK! I was on a wagon train in the cut arm valley just south of the white mud hills, we had been on the trail for a week and had 4 more days to go, the novelty of riding had worn off on the green horns and the team was under full load and off in that zoned out space horse with a long day ahead get, the wagon ahead of me was one of those almost a wagon substance with plastic pipe for hoops and a blue tarp, and the one behind had a team of little fat feords( he, he) and with a little help from a tow rope and a big hook on the back of my wagon they made it up all the hills so far when a big old mean and half blind rattler struck out and bit down on my ,on my … wagon pole!!! by the time we got the team unhooked we had to saw off the pole to save the wagon !!!!
