i had the sawmill down the road cut me an elm pole for the bob-sled i just made , it seems better than the ash i had cut this summer as that ash developed a big split . maybe it dried to fast or something , come spring im going to paint it. ….mink

my horses are in very nice body condition but i was wondering as the vet came into the neighbors barn and looks at his horses and makes the comment that they all are selenium defficient. his horses all have good body condition also , so it just got me wondering if any of the other draft horse people use something . i guess sometimes like the old saying goes if its not broke dont fix it might apply . thanks for the reply jen

i was thinking the drive in type would work well on the dirt roads and asphalt . while not being as aggressive as the pulling type shoes . am i thinking along the right line or is their a better route to go?……thanks mink

no the both are sound . their belgian mares weighing 1900 pounds or so each. the hooves were very outgrown and an amish guy trimmed them the day before i picked them up .i got there a little to late to see the one get trimmed that gives the problem and of course they wouldnt mention if she acted up or not . this is the second trim in about 10 weeks , so im hoping for better sucess the next time . i have a tractor supply store near me ,any idea what the name of he stuff you used to calm your horse?…….larry

i can pick her feet up for a few seconds while she’s standing in the stall ,once or twice then she wont pick them up . the stock seems to scare her when she knows she cant get away or put her leg down .. thanks for the replies , as you say maybe if i try it more she’ll relax. further note the people before really neglected her feet so i guess its maybe to be expected for a while.
