Probably want to get them used to the smell of the blood too, I know some horses can react very different under certain circumstances.
NB axemenParticipantWhite horse sulkys already come with a KV bottom as I got one here, I have a 14″ KV bottom 3 wheeled sulky, I have the 3 horse evener, but when the ground is not full of roots, 2 horses can pull it pretty easily.
It also has a pole that I find gives you more control.NB axemenParticipantthanks for the suggestions…
I tried what Eli suggested and she eventually gave in…I usually grain them in the am and then harness right after I get home from work, but I might have to hange my routine a bit…
NB axemenParticipantI haven’t seen Donald in ages, I have to go see him.
I your heading down, let me know, I’m like 15k from Donald, on Anderson Mill Rd.
you can come see my team!NB axemenParticipantboulami,
I’m in Memramcook…not too far from you.
I have a team of Percherons.NB axemenParticipantIt might be too far, but check with Richard MacKenzie @ http://atlanticdrafthorsesupply.ca/…
He goes to Amish Country pretty regularly and can get new or used equipment.
He might already have one in stock….NB axemenParticipantGood find!
I though about doing this for a long time, I seen one before in a Percheron calendar…
I always though if you were to take the rolls the power company use for their cables, put 2 of them together, run a pipe through the center on bearings, and then built it with boards it should do the same trick!!
It would certainly help in building trails in the summer.
NB axemenParticipantwent out yesterday in a new trail hauled a 6×6 behind the cart and it seemed to make a good pack.
well see how good it freezes.
there is 1 spot that I didn’t venture into, it has probebly 2 foot of water probebly 6 feet wide across the trail and probebly 100 feet long, would this stuff freeze in the winter or is there anything I can do to make it freeze.
I would love to go down that path as I would make for a much longer ride, but don’t want to risk the horses going through the ice and hurting themselves.NB axemenParticipantThe guy in Memramcook is Donald Richard, I think this is his #?
(506) 758-2098NB axemenParticipantCarl,
