Bob is doing O.K. , got his feet trimmed, farrier said he trimmed Bob over 20 years ago, and that he was a great pulling horse. he got ranker after the trim, very tender soles, very likely foundered on his front feet. He doesn’t know “whoa” I found out. I have ground twitched a cord with him this winter. The gray mares have yarded 20 cords of fir pulp, they are 1,500 lbs a piece. Very nice team but they like to run.
It shaped up to be quite the winter. The deep snow makes for better roads and easier yarding the wood, keeps the dray above rocks, hummicks, stumps and what-ever, tougher on the chopping and swamping though, but I really love hard, hard work wicked hard. The harder the better. Cant spell tun but I can move it..Patrick - AuthorPosts
