Finally found it
RichardParticipantThanks for the number. Should have parts on the way now.
RichardParticipantThe plow behind the cart not work very well?
RichardParticipantReally good pictures. Just had a big piece of metal put in my back in October so I cant have that kind of fun. Think I will stay with the pull type tractor plow idea. Sure does look like fun though!
RichardParticipantI have seen the pictures. Certainly looks like it works good but looks can be deceiving. Thought maybe someone that has actually used one might tell us the good and the bad of this set up. Better or worse than an actual horse drawn plow. Seems to be a lot of interest in plows lately. Thought I was the only one getting spring fever.
RichardParticipantWow! Did not know new ones were that expensive. Not sure I can justify that for a few acres a year. Guess I need to do some thinking about this. Thanks for the reply.
RichardParticipantThanks for the info. Maybe I’ll get lucky soon.
I understand your frustration. Couple of days ago I saw a #7 on St Louis craigslist. Asking $100 I think
RichardParticipantI have called Balsters, McNair, JD, Case IH and several bearing distributors no luck finding a source for bearings of this size. I was told someone advrertises in SFJ that makes something for replacement in these mowers. Not sure who I’m looking for. Need more numbers of places to call. Thanks
RichardParticipantDoes anyone get SFJ magazine? Trying to track down a number of someone that makes bearings for these mowers. Thanks
RichardParticipantI went to the web site and went through the bearing section but didn’t find a match. I’ll call them to check. I’ve called everyone local with no luck. May have to go with bronze bushings as a replacement. Thanks
RichardParticipantWas talking to an Amish guy about pulling a grain drill not long ago. He has a 12 footer too. Said 2 of his horses can pull it but prefers to use four. The reason being they can can drill longer between rest breaks. This guy has 15-1800? pound Begians. Hope this helps.
RichardParticipantI was checking out the old mower and found 1/2 inch bearings inside the counter shaft nut. If you already know about these disregard this message. I’m stumped.
RichardParticipantThe manual for the number 6 shows roller bearings used for the wheels. Bearings somewhere else must have been someones attempt to improve it.
Will a number 6 bar bolt up to a number 7?
RichardParticipantNice job. Very well said.
RichardParticipantThank you Robert. You hit the nail square on the head.
