Another from VA

Afternoon all…wanted to quickly introduce myself. I have, or well, am owned by two 17.2H Percheron mares, one is registered one is grade but they both do well together. We drive, use to do halter, ride, go to public events, pull logs, skid, you name it, the girls can do it.

I recently got my grade mare and am learning the finer points of team driving, which I am absolutely loving. I am finding though, they are a very strong team and I have to keep an eye on how quickly they are going and what we are doing, not that they will get away from me but because they love to be in harness.

Hope to learn a lot here, hopefully I can help and to meet others.

Morning Robernson and Carl…I am in Rixeyville, not sure if you know where that is. I am familiar where Stafford is, half way to D.C.? Were about an hour from D.C ourselves, just went and spent the weekend up in Annapolis and did some holiday shopping with a friend.

I really enjoy working the team, I had been driving single for about 5 years, our new mare, was at one time my mare’s team mate and they are getting back into the groove of driving together now. I try to drive as often as I can and am hoping in the summer I can take a few driving classes.

Yes….why? I don’t know whether to ask do you know us or not. I recently got myself into a big can of worms and hesitate anymore to say anything.

But if you know Smoke due to my being very proud of that mare, well…that’s my girl!

I have followed your progress with Smoke on Draft Resources. I am bgirl there. Stopped using that name when someone from Texas said that is what law enforcement called hookers that work the bars!

Anyway, you and Smoke are doing great things and it is very exciting to see you working a team now.

The ring the team is in is at the VA State Fair, we placed 2nd in the antique farm wagon class…I was quite pleased as by then, I had been driving them together for about 2 weeks.

But yes, Culpeper..cross our dirt road and your in Rixeyville. If your ever down our area, please, stop by and sit a spell, we can tell stories and I love to hear anything draft. And you can meet Trixi and Smoke…I also have two QH as well, Lucy and Terry.
