Bob Brennan invites all draft animals and the public to his farm to demonstrate how to prepare the land for sping planting. The last event drew 79 draft horses and mules plus 2 oxen. Approximatly 300 spectators. There will be equipment to use if you do not have any. At 9am we would like to start with single draft horse exhibit for the small acreage market farmer. We need 5-6 single horses to plow, disc harrowing, cultivate, cultipac etc.. Then we’ll grow into pairs or team plowing and other equipment. We will graduate to multible hitches by the end of the day. Gary Kasimore will be demonstrating the jerk line method with his Dapple Grey Percherons and 4up -2 + 2 on a sulky plow later. Richard Rediford will demostrate 6 up- 3 + 3 with his black Percherons on a 2 bottom JD plow with the pully system. Sue Brennan will start with McCormic Deering cultivator with a single, then team and later will be driving 4 abreast on a 2 way sulky with her Percherons. Bob Brennan & Sue will demonstrate 8up – 4+4 on 10′ double disc harrows in the afternoon. Too many to list . Mules are a big draw to this event (Belgian and Perch crosses) and Oxen will also be present. At mid day we will have a parade of breeds and farming equipment. This event has been on RFD for the 2010 plow day and will be film again this year. All we need is good weather. Rain Date April 6, 2013

I wish you lots of success and many good teamsters doing great work.

Heard though Dad that Sam was finishing up the trails for the syrup run. Can’t wait to try “Maple Vanila Ice Cream” at the Maple House. Yum Yum! AND best of luck on your new adventures and so happy for the both of you. If you can use an extra team or hand please let me know.
