What’s the standard row width on horse drawn corn planters?

    Thanks.

It seems to me that 40 inches was pretty common.

I have a McCormick Deering and it is adjustable. If I recall the narrowest it will go is about 34″ and it will go well past 40″ wide. I wanted to set it at 30 but it will not go that narrow. I have never used it so I didn’t pay real close attention.

Just planted corn this evening! 2 acres of sweet corn (well a little popcorn in there, too). Ours is 40 inches, not adjustable. It’s a JD. The big thing for us is that it matches the width of the cultivator.

I planted corn with my JD 99 planter on the 15th of May. I have it set on 36″. It was on 42″ when I rebuilt it a month ago. Riverbound, you said your JD is not adjustable, what model is that ?

Good question. How can I tell? Its has IH hoppers on it, as someone pieced a couple together.
