What’s the standard row width on horse drawn corn planters?

May 24, 2012 at 7:02 pm #69804MarshallParticipantI have a McCormick Deering and it is adjustable. If I recall the narrowest it will go is about 34″ and it will go well past 40″ wide. I wanted to set it at 30 but it will not go that narrow. I have never used it so I didn’t pay real close attention.
May 25, 2012 at 4:20 am #69807RiverboundParticipantJust planted corn this evening! 2 acres of sweet corn (well a little popcorn in there, too). Ours is 40 inches, not adjustable. It’s a JD. The big thing for us is that it matches the width of the cultivator.
