JOB OPENING: ADMINISTRATOR – DRAFT ANIMAL POWERED NETWORK (DAPNet).
DAPNet is a thriving international organization dedicated to promoting the use of horses, mules and oxen, as a practical power source to maintain the viability of small farms and communities while celebrating renewable land-use practices that advance the cultural web of local communities.
DAPNet seeks to hire an individual who is capable of managing the administrative duties posed by our growing 200-plus member and extensive web organization.
Telecommuting is required. A successful candidate should be proficient at a variety of computer applications include internet-related and file sharing skills. Duties are varied and respond to the evolving needs of the Board and relevant working committees but include (though not limited to):
-support the Board of Directors (BOD) as they guide the organization in support of Its mission by providing administrative support for working committees,
-membership management including enrollment (website) systems for new and renewing members,
-financial accounting including compiling financial reports for the yearly budget and handling cash and bank accounts,
-general website support,
-fundraising,
-assist with registration for educational events
-quarterly newsletter management (may include the following: final edit/fact check with authors, layout, and distribution),
-attendance at all (teleconference) Board of Directors meetings and the annual gathering.
Independent contractor: One-year position with the possibility of renewal when sustainable funding is secured, 20-25 hours/month, $25/hour. Knowledge about draft animals useful, but not required. Applications due by November 10th . Begin December 2012.
