I Just wanted to make sure folks knew all the great opportunities to work with Doc Hammill coming in Vermont this year. Doc has been a long time contributor to the SFJ and taught gentle horsemanship, and draft animal training methods for as long as I can remember. Doc lives and works in Montana, and his appearances out east are rare.
He kicks off a big week with a workshop focused on teamsters training teamsters. Whether you are working teaching the public or just trying to teach interns and friends on your farm this workshop is for you. I am planning to go to this one. This is in Barton, Vermont on Sept 27th, the day before the field days begin, so come up early and take in this great work shop.
Doc will be speaking and presenting several times during the weekend field Days. Their will be great opportunities to see him work with animals and talk about his approach to working with drafts. I hope you will encourage all your draft powered friends to join us for a fun weekend in Barton, Vermont. Sept 28th and 29th.
Finally doc will be holding a four day workshop, soup to nuts, on the Neal Perry Farm, Oct 3
3rd to 6th. he will work with his partner Cathy Greatorex, Neal and Rebekah Perry as well as other local teamsters to provide to a complete experience for you and your horse or horses. You can also take in this workshop as and auditor without bring your animals.Check out Doc’s web site for more info or to sign up for any of these great training events.

He has some great ideas to keep horses and people safe while driving. Very important to teach interns and new teamsters. Don’t miss this opportunity to speak to Doc and get some hands on lessons with him.
