These folks do not have draft animals, but if you are looking to bring your own or to start incorporating draft animals, I believe that they would be very open to that as long as you meet the other qualifications. Linda has a weak spot for Oxen 🙂

    Hello Everyone,

We are looking forward to transitioning our farm in the next few years. Please forward the following manager description to anyone you might know who would be qualified and interested in this opportunity.

Thanks, Linda & Rich Bulson, Homestead Farms

GENERAL MANAGER WANTED for a diversified family farm. Our 170 acre farm includes a 100 member CSA, pasture raised poultry, pork, and grass-fed Devon cattle. We have been farming here for almost 20 years and are now in transition. We are looking for that special person who is excited by the concepts of a small diverse operation with the possibility that this position could develop into a long term opportunity. This person will have had growing experience and be able to take over all aspects of managing our CSA, including the management of our interns. In addition, the day-to-day responsibilities will include an active role in all poultry and livestock operations. The roles of the current farmers will be primarily as advisors and mentors. Manager’s compensation would be based on experience and income from the CSA, as well as the opportunity to manage without a financial investment. This would be a wonderful opportunity for a person with a few years of experience, ideally in a supervisory capacity, who feels he/she is ready for the next step, but does not have investment capital. If you embrace this farming model, have a passion and commitment to an agrarian lifestyle, and have experience and practical skills, we look forward to talking with you. Please send your resume, including references, and letter of interest to: Rich and Linda Bulson, Homestead Farms, 3842 NY2, Cropseyville, NY 12052 or e-mail: LBulson001@nycap.rr.com.

I checked, it would thrill them to have draft animals used on their farm, any kind is welcome as long as you are willing to use a tractor as well.
