I would rather find a way to keep the “venting” to a minimum, or non-existent to foster more inclusiveness.
I have been thinking of putting together a moderator board, so that several of us with long term commitment to DAP can communicate behind the scenes, issue infractions, and not have to make this an individual behind the green curtain who has the ultimate button pushing authority.
I am open to that, but I really want DAP to be a growthy experience where we can air, to some degree, our dirty laundry, where there are open discussions about behavior, and as a group we can learn to co-exist.
I do not want this site to be just some sanded and polished version of a potential community conversation. BUT, to do that we all need to hear what others are saying, and learn when enough is enough, and go out and yell off the porch, or what ever.

p.s. I have only banned one member for swearing in angry outbursts, one member went home with all his toys because he couldn’t control his anger, but he is still a registered member. I nuke many spammers an a regular basis, but I don’t really want to hold my finger over you all. The point is though my line so far has been pretty clear to me, I realize that there are many people for whom my line is too far, and I/we may need to become a bit more rigid if we want DAP to flourish. and that may be the defining point, IF YOU CAN’T POST HERE LIKE YOU CARE ABOUT THE CONTENT OF THIS FORUM, THEN DON’T !! I just got so frustrated by it all. When I threatened to pull the plug, several very reasonable people stepped up to take over the moderating. There has been little if no problem since. I think there is strength and objectiveness in numbers. When I did it alone, I was always susceptible to taking sides or at least that was the perception by some in the forum. With the group moderators that perception was less obvious and the forum became a pretty nice place to visit.
I think this forum is a really good quality place to seek opinion and learn. I admit, I enjoy a good debate, as do others here and its hard sometimes to keep the topic free of sarcasm or other inappropriate emotions:rolleyes: but as a community, there does need to be someone to answer to if you step over the line. You may feel comfortable in that role, but I think you will enjoy your role better with some friendly support.
BTW, I think you do an awesome job with this forum and appreciate your hard work. I know there is alot of behind the scenes stuff that can widdle away your time. So thank you.
