Hello
We are offering our 2 haflinger horses for free to a good home. We have had these horses for many years and love them. Unfortunately we no longer have the time or money to care for them as we would like to. So they are free to a good home if taken this winter. (spring time we will ask a reasonable fee. Our primary interest is to find them a good home.) The mare is purebred and 16 years old. The gelding is a haflinger cross. I am unsure of his age (12?) they both need their teeth floated and the gelding needs his wolf teeth extracted. Otherwise they are in good health. You would be responsible for paying for coggins tests required for shipping. They ride and drive single or as a team. They have not been worked regularly for the last couple years, but they were prior to that and they have a solid foundation. So with regular work/routine they will quickly get back in shape. A set of nylon d ring harnesses in good condition is included free with the horses as well as various halters, ropes, hoof care supplies, brushes, saddle pads, older harrows, etc (all free with the horses).
We also have a pioneer fore cart and a mccormick deering riding cultivator in good shape that we will let go very cheap if they go to the same home as the horses. (we will not sell the equipment until the horses are rehomed)
Horses are located in Long Valley NJ

We run an educational farm in central NJ and are currently looking for a team. We’re very interested in talking with you about the Halflingers (and the harness and equipment). I’m available anytime by phone: (215) 964-3509.
Thanks!

January 10, 2015 at 11:16 pm #84513JMorrowParticipantHi Daniel —
Thanks for asking. I run the school farm at the Lawrenceville School (co-ed boarding school). We grow about 2.5 acres of vegetables every year for the dining hall and are hoping to start using horses for some of the field work.

February 6, 2015 at 12:21 am #84846Grateful FarmersParticipantHello everyone
Thank you all for your interest. After visiting with Jake and Emma from the Lawrenceville School we believe we have found a good match for our team. While we are saddened by the thought of letting them go we are pleased they will have a good home nearby where we will be able to visit them on occasion (and lend a helping hand). Thank you dap net for being such a rare and priceless resource for all those who want to work with draft animals. I will update this post as things progress and look forward to following Jakes posts on here as well. - AuthorPosts
