We finished up our little work sled yesterday and I got off work early so guess what?
I DECIDED TO WORK MY HORSE!!!
😀 Big suprise, I know but I had so much fun. Hadn’t got to work her in almost three months so I was just itching for an excuse. I worked her single and she did spectacular. Even with my uncle’s dog running around her feet barking and nipping at her heels she never even flinched (anyone who followed my posts from last year will realize how big of an accomplishment that was). I took a picture but it’s on my phone and I don’t have a way to send it to my email but I made sure to send it to some friends in atext messege entitled YAYY! lol
Anybody else get their horses out during this spell of nice weather we’ve had?

They hauled six loads. They had to go a quarter mile to spread and back for each load. After that we hooked them to the sled and put fire wood in the house. I thought they might get tired out but they handled it real well.

Went snow/mud sleigh riding was a lot of fun, never even got stuck 🙂 Some of the bare ground really made them work too which was good as they had some energy saved up. I’m in the process of building a new wagon and am hoping the snow keeps melting so I can get it out and go for a ride.

A solid sweat each time, makin’ that spring coat shine!
I can see/feel some real positive changes already; and the mares are looking great too!;)March 7, 2010 at 4:21 am #58803Joshua KingsleyParticipantGot out a new pair of ponies today and dragged a little wood after a 5 hour sesson of cleaning them up… The manes were a matted up mess!!! burdocks and prickers, if the team were not going to be up forsale in the spring they would have been roached and started over new. The team was hot for the first 1/4 mile but settled in nicely. They have been kicked out for the last 4 years or so. It was good to be working a team again.
