Hello everyone,
My name is Evan Snow and I’m new to the Draft Animal Power forum. I’m excited to be a member of this community and hope that it may open new doors for me in the world of working with animal power. Currently I work on Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, VT with four Shires. We keep ourselves busy doing plowing, harrowing, spreading manure, logging, wagon rides, sugaring, and any other job we can find around the farm.
I have worked for Cathy Wells, who owns the Shires, for a couple of years now, but am about to make a drastic geographic change. I’m moving to Oregon soon and would like to connect with any draft horse folks out West who are a part of the this network. I find working with horses to be very rewarding and hope to continue to do so in my future home of Oregon.Greetings to all and thanks for putting together this awesome site!

That’s a perfect place to meet folks. Make sure to attend the round table discussion, that was well worth the entire trip for us!

Where abouts in Oregon are you headed? There’s usually a good opportunity to work with draft horses at the Mader’s farm near Halfway,OR (far eastern OR) – if you don’t mind switching to Belgians for awhile.
