Thanks for having me here.
We run a vegetable production farm on a Caribbean island. We use organic intensive hand methods plus a DR hand pushed power tiller, and irrigate with stored rainwater from our ponds. We compost kitchen waste from our restaurant customers for fertilizer, so our only input is seed for the most part. We have a retail farmstand two afternoons a week in season.
For the last nine years we were on 3 acres of leased land and now we are leasing family owned land, about 40 acres. We have fenced the pastures for beef cattle and sheep rotation which we plan to start in the near future.
A friend offered me a couple of riding ponies, both around 14 hands, 950 lbs, one age 10 and the other 30. This piqued my interest in finding out more about using them for farm tasks instead of purchasing a tractor and implements. Looking forward to getting some ideas and advice here!

We’ve got a 13.3 grade sort of drafty-pony type, and there’s at least a few other folks on here with haflingers and other small drafts. I look forward to learning along with you! Welcome from the other “newbie”.

Good luck, Carl
