ParticipantI finally got a good whole weekend of logging in with my two, Lee and Zeke. I’ve been working them on the drag load for not quite a year now. We’ve moved logs around the field, but this was our first trip out in the woods trails. Everything went without a hitch, and then my 83 year old neighbor helped my saw some of the logs up into 6x6s that are going into the barn I’m building in the fall. We are trying to do this with a much material as possible farm generated, and done with horse power. This is a big first step, and I’m very happy.
Does anybody know if MOFGA’s low impact forestry meet is Oct 1&2? I’d look it up, but I’m sure somebody here knows.

ParticipantCongrats. There’s no better feeling than returning to the barn after a successful day. Well, except returning to the barn after a successful day with a new team.
I’m taking my new mare to her first logging job this week, where she’ll be hooked with my steady gelding, Big Jim. I hope it goes as well as your first adventure.
