I am curious as to why the MD straddle row cult is the only one people use or even look at. I have 2 JD straddle row cults and have used them quite happily. The visibility on the MD is a bit better, but other wise the JD is really a nicely balanced machine and certainly able to do anything I asked of it very well. Jay

I only know of one Amish fella that uses a JD. When you see one they go on the cheaper end of the price range. I have seen the McCormick Deerings bring upwards of $400. If coarse that was for ones in field ready condition. I have a couple of the McD ones that I am getting anxious to try. I didn’t know until awhile ago that they made a fertilizer attatchment for them. I sure would like to find a usable one.

I can honestly say I’ve never even seen a JD cultivator. I’ve always seen/used the old McD’s. They are the most prevalent in my area of the Ozarks, but then again there aren’t many JD pieces of equipment around here period.
Just my two cents.
