Hi! I live in central MN, where my husband and I have a team of elderly (20 and 27) Percheron mares. They have taught us a lot about drafts and driving, and we’ve become hooked. We drive and ride them, and also use them for pulling round bales, logging, pony rides, self-propelled lawn mowers, etc. Prior to owning “the girls” I rode dressage, and my husband was a very novice horseman. I am a full-time mom of a darling 3 mo. boy…our teamster in training. I also have an affinity for oxen, but no knowledge or experience…yet! We hope someday to create a self-sustaining business surrounding our love of drafts. Until then, we’re just weekenders.
