Hi, my name is Stephanie,
I’m from Quebec in Estrie area. I’m a student in farm management and a part time worker on horse powered dairy farm. Last summer we did haying with two team of Belgians. In autumn we have harvested 1 ton of potatoes and I ‘ve plowed half an acre for my gardens next spring. I hope to sell it locally and use my fjord cross pony for little chores in the gardens. And now we are logging. I can’t wait for sugar times!
I love farming because we learn every day and thorough the routine we have always something new to keep us curious and live with passion. Having fresh food, animal companionship is a good reward too.
We are 4 students that went to France for draft horse workshop and now back here we search for other peoples in Quebec who work with horses. And then maybe write a contact book.
I’m glad to have found your forum and peoples who like farming!

I live in NH about an hour and a half from Sherbrooke. I don’t do much farming, but I share your interest in horses.
I do cut wood and would love to contact bucherons in your area who still use horses.

Sounds like exciting times for you! I’d love to see some pictures of the work you’re doing with horses. My wife and I are a couple of hours from the Quebec border here in NY – practically neighbors.

We’re 3.5 hours from Sherbrooke here. This is a great board with a lot of experienced teamsters not so far away from you.
Someday maybe we will have enough francophones for a langue francaise sub-forum.
January 3, 2012 at 1:43 am #71237chrisf.ParticipantHey Stephanie I’m in Rawdon Quebec, I use my horses as much as I can both in the field and in the bush and am working towards buying a farm with the intention of cutting the hours of the real job, and increasing the horse work. I’d like to know if you find out about anything horse related events this side of the border. Good luck. Chris chrisfalle@hotmail.com.

Il me semblait avoir lu ton nom quelque part !
Tu fais partie du groupe d’étudiants de Victo qui ont été faire un stage en traction animale en France ? Est-ce que l’expérience a été bonne ? - AuthorPosts
